Understanding:
exact comprehension,
intelligence between two or more persons
A friend of mine once said, "Everything looks more repairable when it's in pieces." I looked at the dissembled lamp all over my floor and chuckled to myself -- it had never looked as far from repair as it did in that moment. But it got my mind going; perhaps it was closer than I thought.
Sometimes a little breaking down must precede the building up.
There's a lot of things to be understood in this world. Chemistry, history, calculus, people -- a category encompassing countless others -- but one of the most difficult things to do is reach "exact comprehension" with yourself. It's hard to know what you want to achieve, where you want to go, and who you want to become. It's difficult to know what you think and how you feel. Sometimes it takes a little breaking down to find who you truly are. Open up. It is the times spent open and on bended knees that you will reach a full understanding of your potential. Reassembling yourself provides insights that would otherwise be missed. And, as you include the Lord in this, He will add to your discoveries what He has always known. He will help you to understand yourself.

This is a fabulous truth, and one of the hardest to live by. But if I may add, the power to reassemble yourself is a power of the Atonement and you will always be stronger when you let the Lord be an ingredient, even a mortar, to your newly assembled self.
ReplyDeleteHoly cow guys! These are absolutely beautiful thoughts, thank you. I believe that God loves broken things, because they allow for him to build them and to make them the beautiful creations they were meant to be. The broken heart is the heart with room for the light to come through.
